The worst complex in Lawrence...and that's saying something

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I have since now moved out of Campus Court (AKA COLONY WOODS!) but I lived there for 2 years.
Now, you may ask, if it was so bad, why be there 2 years'
Because the staff of Campus Court is incredibly shady and we did not know our lease had automatically renewed.
Every other complex I've lived in you need to give around 60 days notice. Too bad at Campus Court you need 90 days notice. Which may be fine for some people, but as a student, living with a student roommate...schedules are sometimes not finalized til a bit later than 3 months.
But, I accept responsibility, and stuck with my lease.
I did, however, try to sublease my apartment. HAHA GOOD LUCK! I had at least 6 different people come in, and once they saw the condition that apartment complex was in for the price, they left.
Maitenence is a joke. I would call and need something crucial done (toilet won't flush, pipes frozen) and the manager would huff and puff before finally imputting my request into the mait. guys. I'm sure the maintenece people are nice, but as far as I can tell all they did was drive around the complex in the golf carts all day. The grounds were always dirty and once, a note was placed on my door that they were going to start charging tenants in my specific building everytime they found a cigarette butt on the ground. Umm, how does that make sense' People who DON'T live there who visit people who DO live there might be flicking them on the ground. They never pursued that action, but why threaten tenants without concrete evidence'
I will say noise isn't terrible, but that also may have to do with the cops constant presence for the variety of domestic disputes they have to come break up weekly if not bi-weekly.
Mail is terrible. And forget ordering packages. They will sometimes keep them in the office until you pick them up..except when you go to ask for them they give you the 3rd degree.
The worst part though is the management. I cannot believe the people that run that office. They are the most unprofessional group of people I have ever seen. I have seen on these boards that most people think the main manager, the woman I believe her name is ----, employs her -------- and her friends as her staff. I wholeheartedly agree. These girls act as if they OWN the complex. So when you ask a question or make a request, you'll be sure to be a sigh, groan, or blatant complaint. I just got to the point that I didn't go to the office, even if I really needed too. These woman (I never saw any men working there) make the most simple thing a hassle. The main manager is the absolute worst though. She has yelled at me and I've seen her yell at other tenants. Who yells at the people who pay your salary'
Finally, the renovations they made are a joke. It's totally overpriced. They need to replace the windows in that hole! I would get ice coating the INSIDE of my windows no matter what I did. So say hello to HUGE energy bills.
