I lived at Malls for 2 and a half years. I was so sad to leave this apartment complex. The office staff and maintenance staff was wonderful! They were not ever out to get you. The lease was clear--essentially everything they said they would do--they did. I moved in August of 2005. I was just beginning my graduate degree at KU and my shower had to be replaced because it was causing a leak in another apartment. One of the maintenance guys, Steve, came to my apartment and told me that he needed to repair the shower. He gave me a time frame so I would be able to shower before class the next day. That day I came home and the shower was finished-good as new and there was no evidence that he had been there aside from the note he left me. The communication between office staff and tenants is wonderful.

I am so disappointed that someone who never lived in this complex wrote a negative review. The apartments are old--but so well kept. I have several friends that lived in Lawrence in newer shiny apartments that had so many problems with office and maintenance staff and the apartments themselves.

I loved the demographics of this complex--there were older people that had lived there for years, students, young families. It was really perfect for me -- I was really looking for an adult complex that was not full of all night college parties.

I was also gone for a summer to a training program. I was coming back in the fall and didn't want to sublease for only two months. I don't know if they still offer this-but I paid my July rent and I told the office I would be gone all of July and August. And that was all I paid was one months rent to keep my beautiful apartment and not have to pack all of my things.

There is a laundry facility in the courtyard that always smells and looks clean. I always felt safe here. There was an on-call company that handled all noise complaints and there was also video surveillance of the parking lots. It was so nice to only have a few extra bills outside of the actual rent. When I lived there my internet service was only and additional $30 because the complex itself already had cable TV which was included in your rent. I miss not having to pay a gas, water and trash bill.

I am currently looking for another apartment and nothing really measures up to the experience I had at Malls. If you are planning to move here enjoy!!
