It was a great place to grow up

Years at this apartment: Pre-1980 - 1986
I'm posting this more for historical purposes than as a review since its been so many years since I lived there.
My family moved to Meadowbrook in 1968. This was when it was less than 20% the size it ended up being. 15th Street was a dirt road.
Our building was less than 2 years old when we moved in. Cable television became available in the early 70s and they wired the whole complex and included it in the rent.
During the 70's, it was a good family complex with many professors' families living there, the playgrounds were usually full and the two swimming pools were greatly appreciated. (I've heard they recently closed the West pool).
I moved out to live in the dorms in the early 80s, but came back and rented a 1BR for the last two years of college.
I have no memory of spiders being a problem. Maintenance was taken very seriously. They had a few draconian rules, but it was the best of the places I lived in in Lawrence.
