I have had a very good experience at Meadowbrook. I am very impressed with the maintenance staff--they are quick and reliable, and I really enjoy my apartment.

From what I can tell, the rental rates here are not the highest, and not the lowest in town. The quality of the apartments, however, is much better than some of the other places I have lived in Lawrence. My appliances work great, and they provide washer and dryer in the apartments. I don't mind that my appliances and carpet aren't brand new because my rental rate has stayed the same for the past two and a half years. That is really important to me.

Every once in a while, I can hear my upstairs neighbor moving furniture or something--but this is an apartment building. (If you are looking for complete silence, buy a house.) It is always during the day or early evening, and I have very rarely been woken up by noise in the middle of the night. The two times I was (by cars playing loud music), I called the 24-hour security number, and they had it taken care of soon after.

I live by myself and yet I have never worried about my safety. Of course, I lock my door and sliding glass door at night or when I'm not at home, and I use common sense. . . something people need to do more of. but I have never had a reason to worry about coming home late at night by myself.

Sure, if you have thousands of dollars to spend each month on rent, get something more luxurious. But if you are looking for a nice place and good people to work with, this is a great place.
