When we began looking for apartments last year, we thought Meadowbrook sounded like an awesome idea because it was so close to campus. We figured that being so close to campus, it would be almost all college age people living there. We were wrong. At least in our building. Our bad experience with Meadowbrook is mainly because of our problems with our neighbor below us. The walls are pretty thin, and apparently the floors are too, as she complained that she can hear every word we say, she has also complained that we "walk to loud", and she has accused us of making chunks of her ceiling fall out. We can't even have friends come over for dinner anymore because she gets so mad, and has threatened to call management and get us evicted. She also smoked a lot and the smoke would come up through the vents and make the bathrooms and bedrooms smell like cigarette smoke.

The maintenance was just fine, we really liked the "jack and jill" bathroom set up. One bedroom was significantly smaller then the other, and the smaller bedroom also had less closet space, and the bigger bedroom had the bathroom attached. The hot water ran out quick sometimes, but overall there were no maintenance problems, and had we had better neighbors, our experience living at Meadowbrook would have been much better. It is a little pricey too.

I was just curious, why did you let your neighbor ruin your life? I had a similar situation, but when I spoke to the office staff they told me that unless the police were called they could do nothing, which means my neighbor was full of you know what. I agree the maintenance was great, however I disagree with you stating that they were pricey. Everywhere else that is remotely close to KU is equal in price and sometimes your living conditions are worse and the management is horrible. They never claimed to be a luxury apartment. The place is just an average apartment complex that has great management and a great location and those two things are why I still live here.
