Acceptable Home for College

West Hills is certainly not where I want to be in a few years, but I think that it is as good as or better than what I expect from a cheap college apartment. The maintenance people are decent. I had problems with the sink in the second bathroom and the garbage disposal. He fixed it quickly and adequately. If I had hired someone or done it myself, I would have demanded much higher quality, but at least it got fixed within a couple days. The "new paint job" on the walls looks like a crap touch up job, but some carefully placed posters take care of that. No, West Hills is not amazing, but it beats the hell out of a dorm for my college years, and the apt is spacious.
Two main complaints about the staff: 1. when I came to sign the lease, she said that I couldn't look at the apartment until after I had signed the lease. Prima facia lie, to which I replied, "are you ------- kidding me," at which point she "made an exception." 2. The crappy parking sticker they gave me for my car came off my mirror, so they towed my car during a football game. With much difficulty, I did get reimbursed, but it was a considerable challenge.
All in all, however, West Hills was the most desirable of all the dozen or so complexes I shopped when I was looking for an apt, and I do not regret my choice.
