My finance and I lived in the Crescent apartments for two years, and were very happy with about everything.


-- PARKING --

I downgraded my parking rating slightly because there was a problem for a while where people had stuff stolen from unlocked cars. However, management posted signs to warn everyone to lock their cars and the police started making frequent passes through the complex, which seemed to help.

We never had any problems finding a parking spot near our entrance in our two years at the Crescent.


-- NOISE LEVEL --

We lived in a building close to the main office and didn't have much of a problem with highway noise from I-435. However, it was always present.

The apartments were fairly sound resistant. We did have a neighbor with a large dog that would bark a lot and some (hopefully) college kids across the way threw one or two parties with loud music and talking that lasted past 2:00 a.m. We never complained about these incidents, though, because they were pretty isolated.

I do remember that in our apartment you could hear footsteps from the stairwell. And the K-Mart that our apartment overlooked would oftentimes have a loud alarm go off that they could never seem to figure out how to turn off.

I'd say that the noise level was about average for apartment life, though. Perhaps a little better than average, even.


--EVERYTHING ELSE--

The Crescent is an excellent apartment community. Our visitors would always comment about how cute our apartment was, and very little of that had to do with our decorating sense.

Management and maitenance are pretty easy to get ahold of, yet stay out of your hair if you don't request help, unlike other places I've lived where they'd want your apartment preped for bug spraying once a month.

We didn't really get to know many of our neighbors and there weren't many events for meeting them--perhaps this is something that could be improved upon by the staff.

We lived in walking distance of the pool and fitness center, and would frequent both. We were both very happy with the apartment. And sad when we moved out.

I was very impressed that we even got back most of our deposit. A small amount was deducted for some cleaning, but I figured we would get the standard $0 deposit refund.

I remember a few weeks before we moved out I drove in from work. On the way into the complex I noticed a fast food cup in the gutter of the exit drive. After checking my mail at the mail room I saw a member of the maintenance staff leaving for the day. On his way out, he stopped his car, got out, and picked up the cup.

I couldn't help but wonder at how many other apartments the staff would have left because they weren't on the clock anymore.

Anyhow... We both strongly recommend these apartments.
