We moved here in May 2005, but are hoping to buy a home by the time our lease is up. Otherwise, we would stay. When we need maintenance for anything (which hasn't been much), he's here that day and it's fixed. The only time I had to wait for something is when he had to order a part for our dishwasher. That was on a Friday, the next Monday was a holiday, but it was fixed on Tuesday.

Granted, some of the neighbors aren't perfect, but you find that everywhere you live. Trash does blow all over on trash day and a lot of tenants don't bother to pick it up. You will find that everywhere, too.

We have had no problem hearing our neighbors. The only thing we hear is when they open their sliding door, or are in the kitchen and accidentally drop something.

The lawns aren't great. When the duplexes were built, the topsoil was removed, as it is in most new construction, but not much has been done with the lawns. I bought some soil and cheap seed to fix the grass in the front of our unit, just for my own benefit.

I have mixed feelings about your mixed reviews! My daughter and son in-law live in your Lenexa area right across from the new pool. Our home is up for sale at a very promising price and we were hoping to move there. With as much as the rentals cost...why so much negativity?
