I cannot seem to understand when the complex is making changes or exterminating the apartments that the tenants are not notified at least 24 hours in advance! This has happened earlier in the year when they exterminated and about a month or so ago when apparently electricity needed to be turned off so meter panels could be replaced. It just so happens that I have opened my door late at night and noticed a letter rolled up between the doorknob and frame that something would occur the next day. The last letter received tonight (after 5pm) stated that my building would be exterminated tomorrow 10/21/08 and that if my apartment was not "ready" I could be charged $25 because of it. It also states that failure to comply is a direct violation of my lease. Where in my lease does it say it is ok to notify me the night BEFORE a change is to occur and disrupt my life' I guess we really need to start reading the fine print.

Over the summer, I had an issue where my thermostat would not shut off, causing a high utility bill. I called and complained, someone supposedly adjusted it, but the same thing occurred that night. Finally a week later I was given a new unit. Maybe I am one of the luckier ones....

yeah, I wonder if thats what is happening to me. my utility bill is absolutly insane.

Yeah we've had the same problems with the less than 24 hours notice. I glad we weren't one of the dozens of people that got their cars towed when they told us they were going to resurface the parking lot with less than 24 hours notice. bq.
