Oak park village has pulled through. all of our problems with the electric bills are fixed now thanks to them! It took a long time to figure out what was happening with the water heater and to find a way to reimburse us, but with as many apartments that oak park village owns, I can understand that. There are hundreds of apartments that they have to take care of. I'm just thanking my lucky stars that they do care, and are willing to work with us on this issue. Other than that we have really enjoyed living here. The apartment layouts are huge, the balcony is huge, and the walls are thick, so I hardly ever hear people next door. only when their surround sound is on. The pools are salt water, and really awesome. they have jets in the pools that make it feel like your waiding in the river. and the land scaping is pretty cool too. I like all the trees with flowers on them. And basically, every where you look around this complex has every thing you'll ever need within' walking distance. The mall, grocery store, dozens of resturaunts, and fast food places.... and theirs basketball courts EVERY WHERE! We like that painting a wall is an option, however I wish they'd expand their color choice. We like all the mirrors too. a whole wall of mirrors. it's awesome!

I really don't see police activity either. I used to see more a couple years ago, but not so much in the last year or so... one of the girls at the office told me that since this new company took over they tightened the reigns on who can get in or not. No felonies, and even some misdemeanors can not allow you to move in. I think that's pretty cool.

i don't get it. I'm up late at nite and don't see the police here ever. Like once in the last 2 months. I feel very safe here. The door on the patio does have poor insulation though. I had to put a towel in between the door and wall to keep the air out.

True, ghetto is appropriate to describe it. The police are around b/c 1. They are on patrol and 2. They receive LOTS of calls about cars getting stolen and broken into! Not to mention once a complex gets the reputation for having a certain percentage of residents who the police are looking for - it sticks. Whether the police want them for not paying a speeding ticket or they have beat up their girl friend! Yes, Oakpark Village you have a lot of criminals living here.

I kinda like all the police. lenexa has the greatest police department in all of kansas. there might be criminals, but at least i get the satisfaction of watching them get caught right outside my balcony!

There has been some police disturbances within the community. However, you will find that there will be some crime no matter where you live,work or shop. We do our very best to provide a safe enviroment for our residents and work directly with the police department. Please remember that we qualify our residents exactly the wau you qualified to live here with us.
