DISGUSTING!!!

My new "gorgeous" apartment is infested with roaches and spiders. I realized that spraying or baiting or whatever they do will never work since roaches are all over outside. All they have to do is crawl in the front door! There is not even close to enough outdoor lighting: no lights in the parking lots, just on the building itself. Shrubbery is quite thick next to my building entrance. Someone could just jump out of there. I keep having to park far away. There's no assigned parking and I think some units have multiple vehicles, so I never get a close spot. My floor is totally uneven. I keep thinking it will just cave in on the people below me. There is a hole in the ceiling and floor of my pantry-not sure why. No lights on the balconies. Residents (including their young children) make lots of noise in the hallways late at night and it echos into my apartment. I'm fairly sure they didn't verify my rental history or income before "approving" me to live here. But the bottom line is there are roaches crawling everywhere in my apartment! I can't live in the apartment I'm paying to live in! Roaches carry diseases, cause asthma, and are overall a sign of a nasty apartment community. I'm so mad I got suckered into signing a lease for this craphole. How could you feel good about leasing roach-infested apartments to people' They should be ashamed and embarrassed and bending over backwards for me. This is never going to be a classy or even decent place. The majority of your tenants can't even speak English. They're too busy revving their engines and driving their "awesome" cars through the parking lots at 50 miles an hour. But I'm sure the staff likes the language barrier because then the residents can't communicate with them to tell them they have roaches!

-Call Lenexa Building Inspector to file a complaint
-Document all notifications of problems with mgmt (via email)
-Refer to the "Kansas Landlord & Tenant Act" to find a way out of your lease.
The apartment management will ignore your complaints and put off repairs... They say they are under new mgmt... but its the same people working there... and, unfortunately, the same song and dance/give me the run around stuff..
good luck

I am a former tenant myself-I lived in one of those "roach infested" apartments-I finally got out-I agree-it's the same people and they never do anything about it-half the time they say they sprayed for bugs and when I called to check to see if they had I know they didn't because I was home all day and no one showed up...but they always say they were there. I have been much happier since I moved away-I park in front of my apartment and I have real good neighbors! Good luck!~another former tenant.
