Well my roomie and I needed to find an apartment quickly and this was our last option. Our initial visit to the leasing office was great the leasing agent Karen was very nice and thorough with her paperwork she no longer work in the office though. Well had minor issues at first like when we first moved in there was a leak in the bathroom in hall maintenance fixed the same day. We didnt notice until we moved in that there are not light fixture in none of the bedrooms and no garbage disposal. Also there was only a phone jack in the kitchen and one of the bedrooms (Not in master bedroom.) I read comment from this website before moving in about roaches but been here a while and have not seen any in the apartment maybe two spiders been here over 5 months. I was upset because I had to give in and get a carport because the parking was so terrible and dangerous because if you are not at home before 7pm there is nowhere to park and with a toddler who wants to be walking down a dark parking lot half a mile for your apartment building so was forced to pay extra $25 towards rent which I thought was very unfair. As it got hotter I notice the big cockroaches outside the apartment building but not on the inside. What really made me upset and will probably not renew lease is that my toilet was clogged and so had put in maintenence request to fix because I over looked this lease agreement did not notice that if they feel its your fault you will be responsible for cost of repair. So the maintenence guy hae to come back because toilet will need to be replaced he comes back replace toilet and says to my roomie that there will be a charge for replacement. I was upset because felt we should have notified before hand because also in the lease it says we have option to find someone else with approval so I call to the office to discuss issue and in up talkin to maintenence mgr what was noted in the leasing agreement she said oh I do the approvals and we would not approved it anyway I ask why put that statement in the leasing agreement if you already know you not going to approve it so she says if we put everything in the agreement she say it would be over 500 pages long. I was upset at this point. Well the toilet put in but it want flush the maintence guy told my roomie that their a part missing and will be back to fix so will be back this took 4 days. So I ask for reduction because if we are late on rent 4 days we would have to pay a late charge of $50. So she did a conference call explain was found in the toilet and maintence explain what took so long to fixed toilet but was not will to lower the cost for repair for delay not the confusion. I feel that if you have good tenanent you should want to make them happy I check with other apartment office and who all said if there was first offense because they value there tenent relationship would not charge but if it was reoccuring issue then charges would apply. So once my lease it up I will be moving the leasing office does not value the relationship they just want money this the first apartment I everythere had to deal that charge for everything so we want be calling for repair cause we are scared there would be a charge for it. We are in a recession no one has has money like that. So if you move here expect the unexpected. The utility bills have been great not outrageously high however watch the first bill to make sure that does not belong to the previous tenant. This first apartment I been in that charge for plumbing and they first said the toilet was in the trash then when the conference was done the said the broke the toilet to see what was end it then told me but never showed me proof. The craziest thing is the next week the they said there was sewage back up so everyready came out put this loud ass fan in the hall after disinfecting the carpet and said if we turn it off there is a$105 charge for something that was not our fault they have plugged into our outlet raising our light bill MONEY HUNGRY THATS ASHAME WHAT HAPPEN TO CUSTOMER APPRECIATION. ALSO BELIEVE MANAGEMENTS IS POSTING CRAZY REPLIES TO THIS NEGATIVE FEED BACK.

Wow, that really sucks - I hope it gets resolved in your favor. That's pretty slumlord-ish

I am happy to say that we have resolved your problems, althought I have not seen that posting from you.
I am glad to hear that the insects are on the outside of your apartment home, as we go to great expense to keep them OUTSIDE. I am also pleased to hear that I have a very reposive service team.
I am also glad to hear that you have your own parking place eventhough you must pay for it. We are somewhat spoiled in this are that we expect parking to be free. There are many cities where residents pay thousands of $$ for parking and would love to pay $25.00 to have their "very own" parking space. We do try to instruct our residents to be diligent in reporting cars that do not move, wronly tagged, flat tires, etc. This helps us to keep illegal cars out of our community.
I do hope that you will think of renewing your lease and that the rest of your time at OPV is pleasant
