I have leaved at Oak Park Village for 3 years. When we first were supposed to move in they changed the date because they said the apartment wasn't ready yet. We ended up having to move in the day ofter thanksgiving. Which was cool for us because we wanted to do some of the early bird shopping. It worked out perfectly because about time we finished shopping we went to go and get the keys and dropped everything off. But anyway.... they told us that the people before us had totally trashed the place. They had to kick them out because they had just remodeled and they put holes in doors and had burned the carpet from cigarette butts. But once the remodel was done it looked like we had a brand new apartment. The floors in the bathroom and kitchen were brand new and so was the carpet in every room. They did a poor job on the tub because it did start peeling but they had someone come right out and fix it and it hasn't peeled since. The did a buch of patch work on the walls but there was fresh paint. There is a hole in the door of my daughter's room but it doesn't pose as a problem. The screen is busted but that were from the people that lived here before and it doesn't bother me. I haven't heard a peep out of my neighbors but once but when you do seem them they are nice. Once some punk kids tried to steal out of a woman's car who left the window down. But some of our very nice neighbors noticed and chased after the kids and nothing was taken. Where I used to live no one would have done anything. There was a problem with the sink and they came to fix it each time. When they realized that what they were doing wasn't working they replaced to whole sink with no problem and no cost to us and they were so nice about it. I can always find my packages at the front office with no fuss. Finding a parking space is a problem if you aren't here before 8pm. My husband and I have one carport so whomever gets home first tries to find an open spot so the one that gets in later gets the parking spot. If there isn't anything close then the earlier person gets the parking spot and the later person has to find one. We have just learned to make a game out of it. We like this place but we have to move out soon because it doesn't fit our budget anymore. But if I could I would love to stay.

Has anyone figured this out yeah. Why everytime there is a review Jacque from bentley place(oak park village) must put her two cents in. One this tells me something is up because she must be checking the site pretty often, and two the bad reviews must be true. Good day!!

I think it is good that Jacque takes the time to read the reviews bad or good on the site and then post comments. This show Oak Park Village management is trying to find resolution and care about the tenants concerns and comments. Keep doing what you do Jacque!

To the anonymous person it is sad to see that you feel so strongly about the negativity of OPV. I understand that you may have distaste for them and that is fine. Not everyone is going to like where they live. I do like that fact that someone has taken the time to listen to what their tenants have to say good or bad. You can catch more flies with honey that you can with vinegar. When people have problem that should address it in a nice and polite manor. My mother acts angry all the time whether or not the person she is talking to has done anything wrong. I find that being nice and understand gets you better results. You wouldn't insult the person that is making your food would you? Better yet it wouldn't be a good idea. But talking about the problems at hand may help. Sometimes it's not the people in the office you should worry about. If the maintenance people are only doing their job half the way then the building manager should know about it so that they can fire them and find someone better. But no one speaks up but to shout about what's wrong. I have seen this happen plenty of times. So people go around and write bad reviews. I have heard people write reviews about their first impression but now about their whole stay. This is just sad people... sad.

Like some of us... she is probably notified every time there is a new review, DUH. This by far has been one of the most thorough reviews I have seen posted. Its honest and forthright. If they truly are evicting bad tenants then at least thats a positive sign.
