I moved from a really cheap apartment and figured that by paying more I would feel more at home. I was wrong. My biggest compliant is the NOISE!!! At least my $400 month apartment was quiet!! The walls and ceilings are paper-thin. I get woken up in the middle of night almost every night because the person living above us gets home. You hear every step people make, every cabinets shutting, every shower and even when they are going to the bathroom. For the money I figured that they would have used more insulation or some sort of sound proofing so noise wouldn't echo. I had to start taking sleeping medication as well as wear earplugs and I still get woken up in the night. I hear the kids next door running around (which vibrates our walls) and people out in the hall. I understand that I live in an apartment and its expected to be noisy, but when it affects someone's quality of life...that s just ridiculous. Even my poor dog is terrified because she hears noises all day and night!! Oh yeah, and dogs over a certain weight limit should be only allowed on ground level. Sounds like a heard of elephants running around above you.

I've lived on both the lower and upper level of apartments over the years, and have to honestly say...although I hate everything else about this complex...the noise isn't an issue for me. I DO hear the people upstairs pounding around and it sounds like they're stomping...but when you live on the lower level, you become accustomed to hearing that. Something I DO notice about noise...I NEVER hear my neighbors to left or right of me...I ONLY hear the people upstairs from me. If the sound bothers you...try a top floor apartment...you'll find it's a lot quieter...but be prepared for the people below you to balk a little...because you can walk light as a feather, and no matter what...the people downstairs will hear you...no matter where you live. :-)
