If you don't like having to follow rules from management it sounds like it's time for you to buy a home. You should have took care of your apartment and should have done a decent cleaning job YOURSELF so you would not receive charges. The office staff is not your personal maid service!!! It's morons like you that probably make management create those charges in the first place!

Yea, I used to live there too and got hit with all those exit charges. A $200 deposit gets eaten up really quick. There was one small stain on the carpet and they charged us like $80. They charged for a bunch of other crap too. In the end we barely got a deposit back. I had nothing but problems with that management over there. And dont get me started about the maintenance. I am too glad to be living somewhere else now!

Has anyone ever heard of leave a place better than you found it. I dont see how people have problems with charges. I've never been charged at any apartment that I've lived in. The reason being is that if I break some blinds that they provided for me, it would only make sense to replace them before I left. You, my friend, sound childish and insecure. The reason the charges are so large is probably for that reason. You want to walk into an immaculate apartment and leave a shabby one for the next person that rents. Somebody has to pay for fixing the things you did when you lived there. I think the charges should be higher so people like this learn to take more personal responsibility.

If you priced all these items at Lowe's and found them for so cheap, and realize it is only 2 minutes with a vacuum...then why not do it? If they give you a list of charges before hand, so you can get them done then, it sounds like a no brainer to me!

we're hiring merry maids to clean after we move our stuff out. They're like, 50 bucks and we're having them provide a list of everything they did. Landlords make money off of things like this, its a business practice, its the renters job to protect themselves and considering the above, is probably worth 50 bucks.
