White Trash Mecca!!

Years at this apartment: 1996 - 1998
I lived at Rosehill for 2 years and couldn't wait to get out. I never felt safe (I'm a female). In two years I witnessed the police come out for at least 3 domestic violence calls, 2 drug-related calls (one was in the parking lot right outside my bedroom window at 3:00am), and a couple of vandalism calls. And this was just in MY area of the complex. I couldn't even see the other parts of the complex...so who knows how many times the police really came there. The laundry facilities are pretty bad. There were only 4 washers and 4 dryers for I don't know how many people, but they were ALWAYS in use or out of order. Usually I just drove somewhere else (I'm not sure I would have felt safe going in the laundry room, anyway). The maintenance staff was awful. One time the glass doors on my shower broke and they came after a week and fixed it--it broke again the next morning. I called them again and they came and said it couldn't be fixed. (It couldn't be fixed'! It's my SHOWER!) I ended up going to Home Depot and getting the stuff to fix it myself. Parking wasn't TOO bad except on the weekends--but if I ever got home late (Eleven/Midnight or after) I had to park really far away. The walls are fairly thin. We could here our upstairs neighbors TALKING sometimes if we were in bed trying to sleep. And having sex. I have never lived in a place where you could hear your neighbors so clearly. It sucked. Also there were A LOT of solicitors--lots of the magazine subscription guys and kids selling candy. And lots of flyers on your door...which created a lot of trash in the complex from people throwing them on the ground. Also lots of yelling and cars going by and people just walking (not like "exercise walking" but just loitering) around. I've found you can tell a lot about a complex by the cars that are parked there. Take a look at the cars at Rosehill and you'll probably see what I mean.
I can say it was nice to be within walking distance of a video rental place, and Callahan's for a quick drink--and you don't have to drive! And shopping is very close. But that hardly makes up for the nights I double-checked my locks and wished I could just live somewhere else. Rosehill is the reason I never want to live in an apartment again.
