There are good and bad things

We moved in and LOVED the model. Who doesn't' We learned the hard way from our old apartment that you always see your apartment before signing anything. When we did our walk through, it was before the cleaning crew came through so we tried to be objective. The construction workers/painters/carpet guys (whoever) had used the toilets and not flushed, paint stained all over the carpets, and a microwave that didn't work. Great! Still, the place is better than the last one we lived in. Like others, the office never mentioned the train tracks and OF COURSE I was put in Building 6, the closest to it. I can handle the highway but the train is ridiculous. They offered us an apartment with a view (the dirty pond) or a view of the parking lot. I opted to be able to see my car and pay less than to look at their version of a "view".

At one point maintenance had to come in and repair a hole. When I got home there was dirt tracked throughout my apartment and MORE paint on the carpet from their repair. They tried to clean it up (it was damp) but it remained. Granted, the repair was complete and I was satisfied with that part.

If I have to rate this apartment against others I've lived it, it is better. It's in a safe location, the office staff is nice but not overly obnoxious about it. The maintenance guy did apologize for the mess personally. There are no bug problems like it other places. I love the kitchen space and their lighting choices.

So bottom line,

Good: Location, office staff, parking, space, pool, gym, leasing specials, safety, huge MBR tub and double sinks.

Bad: Noise from train, damaged appliances from installation, poorly trained painters, unattractive water feature, water bill is ridiculous (are we paying for the dirty pond').

The only reason I wouldn't recommend is because of the train. I guess if you are in a building farther away it wouldn't be as bad. Dreading the winter when the leaves are gone and can't muffle the sound.

Regarding the water bill, you could be correct. I don't think I've ever paid for all 3 before. I've never had over a 20-25 bill in the past and now suddenly it's nearly 40. The water feature did add some relaxing sounds but did little for the appearance. In fact, it made it murkier. Regarding the train....I lived in East Johnson County since moving from LV county and wasn't familiar with the train being there. It didn't go by while we visited. Staff turnover has been high but I've really only ever worked with Lindsey and she is still there so maybe that is why I haven't had an issue with it.

As a resident I would disagree with some of this review. First of all, it's not like the train tracks were just installed. I knew about the train and our apartment backs up against it. It is just a factor we deal with (there is one going by as I type this), but anyone who took a little walk around the place or has lived in JoCo for more than a day knows there is a train track that goes through here. Second, we haven't had any issue with broken appliances. Early on their was a spider problem but it was taken care of through traps. Third, not sure what you mean by the water bill being high. The water/trash/sewer bill is all combined into one monthly fee of about $37 for our 3-bedroom. It doesn't fluctuate. Aside from some apts which actually cover the entire bill for you for those items, any other kind of rental makes you pay a fluctuating fee for that service. Finally, while the pond is not exactly gorgeous, I think the water feature helped it. My only complaints so far are: - Too much staff turnover. - The new speed bumps which are as high as small mountains. - No hot tub or whirlpool. - No installed grills/etc. in the "common areas" near the pond. - Pool opens wayyy too late (most places the pool opens at 7 a.m.). Sometimes the morning hours are the best to swim/relax in before the rush of the afternoon crowd arrives. 10 am is just a bizarre opening time.
