After graduating high school I was ready to get out of my own. I went to spectrum apartments to look for an affordable apartment and Chesapeake was one of the options I was given. When I came to their facility I really liked what I had seen. After being told by the staff that i would receive a cheaper rate if i signed the lease in June I decided to go ahead and sign the lease. I signed the lease and was a given a key and then i had to leave town. I was told that everything would be ready for me when i got back. When i came home the lock had been changed and I was told that i couldn't move in although i has already put down my deopsit to make a long story short, they charged me for the whole week when i wasn't there b/c they said i was being pro-rated when in reality it would have been better for me to sign the lease in july because the special was still going on. 3 weeks later i receive a letter from Chesapeake Estates saying i owe them money for electricty for the week i was gone, although during the time i was out of town my parents tried to get in to turn down the AC but the locks had been changed b/c they gave me a key before i was approved. i ended up calling price management and the manager there took care of the problem. Since then i have had numerous other problems with my apartment and it has taken weeks to receive a call back and some problems are still not yet fixed. I would not recommend this complex to anyone. As a young female who lives by herself you would think i should have the right to know what is going on in my complex. About a month ago i went outside to go to class around 7:30 am and there where 4 police cars surrounding the complex, when i called to see what the problem was, i was told that i wasn't allowed to know. I truly try and look at the positive side in everything but for this complex it is very hard to find anything positive about it.
