nice place
very expensive
but very close to campus
maintenance is great, very prompt but forgot to repair a hole in our bathroom
smell of gas every once in a while from the heater
management is very nice and understanding.
One of the main resons i wanted to write this is because i wanted to say something about another lanlord in manhattan
Randy Staalbaumer is TERRIBLE.
I live at 1917 college heights for 2 years.
the first year each of us got 1 dollar back from the deposit. All he did was repaint a couple of walls and fix some nail holes.
but that is not the worst.
the next year i was desperate and decided to live there again. this time one of my roomates backed out at the last minute so we put in an add for a new roomate, somebody came to the door while i was away and my other roomate said he could move in. This roomate was pretty bad but that is not the focus of this letter. This roomate did not pay for bills or rent and owed me over 500 dollars at one time, after becoming 3 months delinquent in rent our landlord called and said he wanted him out of the house, Randy said that this roomate could move out now and nobody would be pursued for the missing rent. The roomate moved out and we thought everything was good until it was time to move out, Randy decided he would change his mind and sent us a bill for the missing rent, even the time when the nobody was living there.
Our deposit was 1000 dollars and we recieved a bill for $3,500. When confronted about the verbal agreement the landlord said he changed his mind about it. Randy Staalbaumer will do anything to take your money. He's rude and honestly not very smart. Please dont rent from this tyrant, ask ANYBODY who has lived in one of his places.
