Eh..........

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2007
Park place definitely, has it's ups and downs. Cost wise, what you get for what you pay is pretty decent, especially if you have pets. My husband and I noticed there are fewer complexes allowing pets at a decent price these days. There is, at current a one pet limit, with pet rent ($25) however. The complex pays for cable. Or did anyhow, this is a feature ending in August 2007, unfortunately. Something a friend and former tenant informed us of, the water heater is kinda a community feature. So running out of hot water is not a likely scenerio. BUT, the temperature seems to be affected depending on how many people are using their showers/sinks at the same time. I enjoy long showers, so this is nice. There is a water fee, price based on the size of your apartment. $30 for a 2 bedroom. The complex seems very energy efficant, compared to our last rental. Perhaps it has to do with the 'motel' look, and you've got less sides facing the elements. Cons: This has got to be the loudest, complex, thinnest walls I've been in. Venting is POOR....You know exactly when one of your neighbors is cooking/smoking because the scents will seep into your own unit. Cooking, I can deal with. Smoking, (Being a non-smoker WITH young kids) That's just NASTY. It's tough to say 'yes' or 'no' to this complex. But based on the fact, I do have kids...and the venting IS so poor. I'm going to have to go with No just due to the smoking issue. EDITED: Another thing I did think of after writing this, while making dinner. They have model apartments here at current. While, as a tenant, I find that a nice feature...as I do not like having people come into view my unit....as a potential tenant it was very annoying upon move in. The kitchens here (I think) are decently sized. My husband and I were excited to be able to get our kitchen table out of storage...but when we moved in, our fridge is placed in the middle of the kitchen....it was too large for the spot between the wall/counter. (which is how it was in the model apartment) So that was somewhat disappointing. if they continue to do the model apartments it might be nice if they would include pictures of potential variations in the actual rented out units.
