I lived there for a year and a half and it is not the greatest place to live but if you want to live cheap in Manhattan, it works. The ceilings and walls are thin, other people's sounds and smells seep in, the pool was dirty, utilities were low (very low), but the reason why I will never go back to that place is the management.
The people who work in the office are either liars or simply don't know how to give a straight answer. I was told certains terms for breaking a lease (before I renewed) and discovered it was completely different and much more expensive story 6 months later (after I renewed) when I went to let them know I was officially breaking the lease. And then there is the maintenance. Maintenance came into my home while I was gone to fix something, this I knew about, and then that person got on my PC and looked up pornography. This person admitted to it when I went to office to complain and they DID NOT FIRE HIM. I recieved attitude and excuses from the office workers as to how he had a good history with them. I filed a police report and the officer contact the maintenance person to advise him to stay out of my apt. From that point on no one was allowed in unless I was there to supervise and that particular worker was not permitted in at all. I only hope they honored that.
I do not live there now and I will not ever live there again. As for getting my deposits back as agreed, I was given everything, but I think they knew that I would come back and fight them if they tried to mess me around.
