Another Reason Not to Rent

Years at this apartment: 1997 - 1999
I lived at Georgetown Apts for a couple of years and was extremely disappointed in the maintenance and upkeep of the apartments, as well as managements responsiveness to problems. I was first taken by the nice atmosphere, but the condition of these very old units quickly changed my impression. My first ground floor apartment had a terrible problem with leaks, after a few attempts at correcting the problems, the apartment flooded after a heavy rain. After great difficulty with the management team, I was allowed to move into a top floor apartment and much to my dismay, the ceiling leaked. The leak was never repaired successfully and other residents had the same problem. When I finally moved, I had meticulously cleaned the apartment, but was charged a fine for a slight bit of grime between the seal on a very old dishwasher, which I was able to wipe of with a cloth. But, that didn?t matter, since it wasn?t off before the inspection. Overall, the years I lived there were very unsatisfying. The apartments were old, mildewed, and poorly maintained.
