Run while you can. There are so many better places to live. I lived here for a year and couldn't wait to get out. No matter what you want, they are the rudest people that I have ever talked to. Just wait until you need something. They can't even be nice when they are trying to get you move in, that should have been my clue. I know of a neighbors car stolen and a few break ins around the property. I have to say that the area doesn't seem too bad with so many apartments all around, but I sure wouldn't want to go out alone after dark. Think long and hard before signing with these people, its not a good place to live, I promise you that.

If ghost74 is afraid to go out after dark, that should tell you something. I've lived here for years, never had the slightest problem. The staff has been great and I couldn't feel safer short of becoming a bubble boy.

Considering these are the nicest and safest apartments in the area (straight from a Mission police officer's mouth) good luck finding anywhere safer!

I must agree with the comment about rude office people. One of the young women in the office was, by far, the rudest, most sarcastic and condescending person I have met in ANY complex. I really couldn't understand why she treated me so badly, since I'm not a problem tenant. During my years as a tenant (several places over a period of about 8 years), I NEVER had a late payment, noise complaint, or caused any damage. She just had an attitude! In addition, the complex is showing it's age and is overpriced for what you get. That being said, Hillsborough is at least as safe as any apartment in Mission. No area is perfect and it makes sense to be aware of your surroundings and use common sense especially when going out at night alone. I wouldn't rent at Hillsborough at any price - not because of the area - but because I won't pay to be treated shabbily.
