So I use apartmentratings.com all the time to research "the truth" about apartments, and decided that I guess I should rate the apartments I have lived in. Most people who review their apartments do so out of anger or a bad experience, but I am trying to just give a fair judgement of my experience.

Clarion Park has exceeded my expectations from the beginning. This is a government assisted complex, which means you have to meet income guidelines in order to be accepted as a resident. I have lived in other complexes like this, and most are over populated and run down. However, my two bedroom at Clarion had new light fixtures, new neutral linoleum in the kitchen/entrance/bathroom, and newer windows and window treatments. Also, the grounds are kept up nicely. My old neighbors were complete pigs and left trash outside all the time, and it was picked up by maintenance on a regular basis.

The size was adequate, definitely not roomy. My living room seems squished- but I do have a couch, loveseat, and recliner. The master bedroom is okay sized, and the second bedroom would be cramped for anything other than a child's room or office. The closets are great though.

I have only had good experiences with maintenance. EVERYTHING on my move-in checklist was taken care of the same week I moved in (even petty little things that I just didn't want to get charged for when I left). My air conditioner frozen once, and they were out within minutes. They are always courteous and knock.

The office staff has been little on and off for me. They would not let me see anything but the model, even when I wanted to sign a lease. So, I was expecting something a lot crappier than the model, but mine was exactly the same. I was moving in from out of state, and my husband got their with our Uhaul truck to sign the lease well before I did. They would not let him sign the lease or give him the key to start moving in without me! This would not be a big deal, except it was a holiday weekend and if I didn't get their by 5pm we would be stuck in a hotel and a bigger Uhaul bill for three days. However, after I pleaded with the ladies, the nicest lady up there decided to stay past closing (by 15 minutes) to let me sign the lease. I really appreciated that.

As for parking-- it hasn't been great. I have never had to park out of my lot, but I have had to park a few extra spaces away. Definitely NOT horrible. There are definitely a lot of children around here. And they do seem to run all over and not have supervision. But, I have never had anything vandilized and the yonger children who live next to me are always very polite and say hi. The noise level in the apartments is much better than I have had before. I only hear really loud things from the people upstairs (like something falling off the kitchen counter) and I never hear anything from the sides. We did have a few bugs in the beginning-- mostly weird beatle things. But they come out often to spray and we haven't had any serious problems. And there has only been one spider(which is a major concern for me)!

Overall, I would definitely recommend this place if you are trying to stay under $700 for a 2 bedroom. Everything around here is like $800 and up, so this is definitely a good bargain. You get more amenities for more money, but I think the quality is just as nice as others around the area. For me, there haven't been any surprises. What you see with the model is what you get.

This is a great, reasoned, and fair review! I lived at Clarion a few years back and your experience was nearly identical to mine. It has a few minor problems, but overall it is a good place to live. When I wrote a positive review on here, others said that I am the manager, and I am not! I have lived in four different apartment complexes in the past 10 years and Clarion was by far the best, and had the best price!
