500,000 liability insurance required

I strongly suggest before renting with Price Management Company; Deerfield Apartment in Olathe, Kansas you reconsider as I received a 14/30 day notice stating that I am requied to carry $500,000 limited liability insurance according to the property manager. This is for a 2 bedroom/1bath.
I spoke with various tentants at the complex and they were unaware...
I am shocked and bewildered by the notice left on my door. Or, maybe I shouldn't be''
