I would recommend the Homestead to anyone looking to move to Olathe. My experience with the complex has been very pleasing thus far. Although the apartments are a bit old compared to some others, it is accomendating. Management is very good (yes, staff is pretty friendly), maintenance is exceptionally responsive to requests, the grounds are kept decent, parking in my section is pretty good, and the neighbors have been good.
The only negatives are: the apartments are a little pricey and I've had an ant problem all winter. As far as price, the development in the area has lead the owners to believe they can get top dollar! My advice to you, don't pay too much. There are nicer and newer apts. in the area at close to the top end price here. As far as the ants go, mgmt. has been responsive but unable to get the problem cured. The apt. has been livable but not pleased that I have to pay what I'm paying to share the apt. with some freeloading ants.
Overall, it is a decent place to live. The reviews and high ratings speak for themselves. Go for it!
