We moved into The Homestead after getting out of a nightmare at The Greens of Shawnee. The Homestead so far has been great. We moved in in July of 2008, and everything is wonderful. The people in the office are great to talk to, they remember you from a phone call, which is rare, and they are always availiable to help you. The grounds are kept nice, as a mowing crew comes in once a week and does a great job. For the people with dogs, they have a nice walking trial, and scattered around the apartments are stations with dog waste bags! I think that is awsome, no more stepping in another drops mess!

The only problems we have found though is:

Parking. Sometimes we have to park 5-5 buildings away. It seems the Homestead got greedy, and built way too many carports and garages than they should have. I know they are nice, and I even have one of the garages, but, free parking is a pain most times.

This one couple on our floor: They are pretty young people, and on weekends, they invite their friends over and get drunk. How do we know they are getting drunk' Young men outside our door vomiting, fighting, arguing, yelling, a girl crying, etc.... They have had the police called on them once for fighting in the outside area, and I can't believe it doesnt happen more. They are a pain in the neck. Cant wait til they move!! lol

The lady above us: When we were moving in, we have about 5 people help us on a Sat. afternoon. We are all around the ages of 22-30, and even one of our parents was helping us. Well, you know how when you move into a place, there is noise, from sitting boxes down, telling people where to take stuff to, etc...Well, at about 2:30PM, the above neighbor started stomping on the floor! We didnt do anything different than what we were the rest of the day, I mean, hello, we were moving in!! There were small nails being put up to hang pictures and stuff, so it was noise that HAD to happen. That night when we were going to sleep, we heard a scratching noise in the wall. My wife asked me, "did you hear that'" I said yes. The next day, we had a notice on our door from the apartment people, saying we were complained on by a neigghbor for making scratching noises at night!!!!! We talked to the office and told them the whole story, just like I typed here, and they said, ok, forget about the notice, we understand! Great office people agian like I said!!

Another great thing I love about living here...Every apartment has a alarm!! I think that is awsome for an apartment.

Plus you are right by I-35, Target, Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond, Starbucks, TGI Fridays, Olive Garden, Blockbuster....everything you need is right there! Check it out!
