i moved into worthing lakeside over a year ago, when i moved in the staff (Trisha, Shawn, and Christi) were awsome. attentive to every concern i had even stopped by after hours one night to ensure that my issue had been taken care of. On the topic of issues the complex seems to have its share of them and they no longer get taken care of like before...



1) the apartments are priced at a range that keeps most "unwanted" people out of the complex, and please dont get me wrong when i say that. I classify the unwanted as: "hillbilly white trash, ghetto crusier driving thugs" and anyone with children. but that does not mean that they dont come to worthing to leave their old cars and test out their new sub woofers.



2) the onsite security does little more than just have a pager. He does not respond to calls in a timely manner and youre better off just calling the police department for assistance.



3) Worthing sits on the edge of Olathe, cross the street and you are in overland park. If you do not have a land based phone you had might as well send smoke signals to get 911. (Cell phones see you as being in OP and send your call to OP Police who tell you that you should not call them b/c you are in Olathe. but your cell phone wont let you get to the Olathe PD by just calling 911)



4) The construction on the complex has finally ended but there is still much left to be done. There are areas that still need to be cleaned in the buildings and there are small after constuction woes that need to be addressed but office staff says they cant do anything b/c it is a warranty issue.



5) if you live anywhere near the "lake" be ready to get wet everytime you leave your apartment. The fountains get water everywhere and you can not have your windows open. (Although the fountains right now are off b/c they are broken -Warranty issue- so the lake has been stagnant and smells. Aren?t you glad you paid extra for that "lake" view')



6) the pool and hot tub are always broken or filled with kids. The "hot" tub does not have a working heater so its just moving water around. the pool is filled with kids or the gates are locked b/c the ghetto cruiser driving thugs have thrown the furniture in the pool and broken the ONLY BBQ GRILL on property (since you cant use your own BBQ grill that is a big deal.)



7) the staff at the complex has rolled over a couple of times and only shawn and trisha remain of the original staff (grounds keepers, house keepers, etc) the new girls are nice but a bit bubble brained as i received 3 letters on my door in a 3 day period telling me about my "great new renewal rates" for my apartment. Each one listing a different lease end date. (June 30, July 6, and July 31) when i questioned the actuall move out date for my lease the girls in the office didnt really know the answer b/c they did not know if the lease was up at the first of a month or the last day of the month. I only mention the above b/c i have found a new apt complex, (which oddly enough is not listed on this site so i am taking my chances.) and need to get my lease straight with them and that is hard when worthing cant figure out when my lease ends.



8) the apartments themselves are really nicely planned. they are poorly built and again the --warranty issue-- comes into play when you ask for something to fix. The lenolium (SP') in my kitchen and bathroom have pealed up and now some corners are broken off. the hot water heater does a great job once you turn it up to full blast, but the water never seems to make it from the back of my HUGE 3 br (A PLUS FOR WORTHING) to the kitchen. Turn on the hot water and it will run for a second or two then shut off and the pipes will shake through out the apt sounding like a heard of elephants for a minute or two and then the hot water will be back, all the while you have not touched the faucet for fear something will attack you.-- i will write agian to let you know what they charge me for.



9) Parking is a JOKE! the garages are 90/mo and a carport is 75. the garages are too small and are directly across from each other. you should make friends with the owner of hte garage across from you as it will need to be open if you want to be able to back your car out of yours. the roads around complex are WAY TO NARROW and people park along them making it even worse. the white trash hilbillies that i spoke of earlier who visit the complex at night and squeal their tires are often apt to just leave the car here when they are done further agrivating the parking situation.



I have listed enough problems that i can see and the complex would be great if they could just fix some things and finish what they started. (When they say in select homes they mean it. the same floorplan with have 4 variations and most of the variations are b/c someone messed up) The apt?s are HUGE (especially the 2 & 3 BR) and the design is good, there is real potential for Worthing lakeside but its just not quite ready for inhabitants yet.

Brenda Green and Mariah are the biggest snots that I have ever met in my life, they dont care about what happens to anyone but themselves. The prices of the apts. does not stop the theifs from stealing things off of or out of cars (wheels). why pay almost 900 dollars a month and there not be cameras to watch over the tennents most expensive belongings(cars). Dont step in the grass, you may step in a pile of dog poo. If you like to deal with people that only work for the money this is your place. Oh and p.s. dont be 15 mins. late with rent because you will get a late fee.
