Not bad if you're starting out!!!

This is now my 7th month that I have been living at Millcreek Woods Apartments. While I can honestly admit there are much better looking apartment complexes (inside and outside), for the amount of money we pay monthly in rent, this is perfect for those who are just starting out.
After reading these reviews of others who "have lived here" and are so bitter, I just have to laugh...if they're thinking this place is so expensive, they are in trouble because this apartment complex was the cheapest and most affordable that we found in all of Johnson County. Particularly since my girlfriend and I are both from Chicago, where a 2-bdr apartment with a fireplace, deck, dishwasher (even if it is old!) is going to run AT LEAST $1,000/month...the fact that I'm paying $555/month for all these is a bargain. If you're a typical cheap, Johnson Countier who needs to keep up with the Jones', I would recommend you to move on--you most likely will not be happy. But if you're looking to pocket some cash that you would be saving on average monthly rent at other apartment complexes, while establishing your credit...this place is a great starter.
Now for the bad stuff...
...the basketball court, well...there isn't one. Nice try though Millcreek Woods. These parking lots can get icy and sometimes tough to commute to work in the morning. Washers and dryers are available in the buildings, but not each unit. It'd be great if they'd put a change machine somewhere nearby other than the local gas station. And I must say, coming from Lawrence, a vibrant college town and the City of Chicago...I have never seen so many police cars making stops in this complex of 12 buildings. Seems very odd to me.
Nonetheless, I have never been annoyed with my neighbors, felt unsafe, or felt violated/ripped-off by the management company.
I'd have to say...if you are starting out and need the best overall package for you money...please take it from me, this place is worth considering. Live here for a year or two, save some money for a grander location. Establish your credit and rental history further--many benefits in the end.
Oh, and a HyVee is being built at the intersection of 119th and Ridgeview in the next few months. Obviously, very local!!!
