Moderate price, quiet, convenient

I've lived here 3 years and have found MillCreek Woods a nice, moderately priced place to live. It is convenient to shops, movies, gym, and the highways, but not on the busy Strangline corridor. The Millcreek bike trail access is close by. Staff is friendly and knows me by name.

I am often surprised by how quiet the complex is at night (even on weekends). My neighbors are quiet and friendly.

Some of the facilities appear a little older, but recently the complex has been getting a facelift. Maintenance responds quickly to my work order requests. I've also noticed that the inoperable cars seemed to have disappeared.

Two down sides are:

1) the noisey geese that come in the winter. The noise can be aweful at night after the pond starts freezing and hundreds of geese are concentrated at the ice free section in the middle. The geese removal program has greatly helped this last winter. Unfortunately, although, residents have been asked to not feed the geese, they still do so after the main office is closed, thus attracting the geese to stay year round. That leads to agressive noisey geese in the spring and goose dropping everywhere that doesn't go away until the rain comes .. the ponds gets a smelly goose poop green to it.

2) the street blockage at night when cars park on both sides of the hill coming down from the gas station. It barely leaves room for one car to drive down the middle. Seems odd when there is ample parking throughout the complex.

Overall, I would recommend Millcreek Woods to others.

I am surprised that you didn't mention that in the time period that you have lived here there has been a murder/sucide. A month later a double murder. The following year the clubhouse was set on fire and last year the entire building next to the pool was torched and had to be completely gutted. It is still not finished. All the residents had to find other places to live over night and some had to relocate out of town driving their children back and forth to school.

The street lamps are hardly ever replaced which creates vandalism because of the poor lighting at night.
