Low price and good location, but that's it!

Years at this apartment: 1998 - 2001
The good:
1) Very inexpensive rent. About as cheap as it gets for the area.
2) Very good location. Right in the heart of Overland Park with great highway access.
3) Bike trails a block away.
The bad:
1) Noisy. If you want to be woken up by people cruising the parking lots at all hours playing rap music or yelling in the halls, then this is the place!
2) Dirty. You get what you pay for obviously.
3) Shared washers and dryers, and not well maintained either.
4) You will get notices that they want to enter your apartment for extermination and such, but they will be next day.
The ugly:
1) Maintenance is a joke, I've never been able to have them properly fix my air conditioning so that it's 100%.
2) Tenants kids run around the complex all day, both mine and my girlfriend's cars have been keyed. Cars get broken into some evenings, and I've heard from some who've had their cars broken into repeatedly.
3) And it seems to be getting worse.
Conclusion:
If cheap rent and good location are you're only criteria, then go for it. But if you are looking for a secure, nice, quiet place to live, and not a noisy semi-ghetto, and you can afford more than the bare minimum, this is not it!
