Brookridge has the biggest and most affordable apartments in OP. The spaces are all unique, the management updates and cleans for new residents. Important repairs (like the inevitable no heat or AC ... try owning a house!!) are always made and at overtime cost if necessary. I started with a deck overlooking a golf course, a side-by-side refrigerator, new carpet, new paint, and a see-through fireplace with gas logs ... the previous tenants all upgraded on their own dime, just as I have, because the management is reasonable and friendly. No pretentious clubhouse or work-out room, BUT very little noise from neighbors although the older floors do squeak, amazing retreat type feeling, small community and friendly ... even to the chronically-complaining weirdos. As to the buildings, new windows might be nice, but higher rent wouldn't. This place is absolutely unique and a true hidden gem. If you value privacy, safety, a peaceful (non-partying) community and flexibility this is a wonderful place to live. Rules are in writing and posted but some people will always break them, the manager is honest and tolerant, generally allowing people more leeway than I ever would. On-site management has always returned my calls and checks on all work done in the building. Major natural disasters such as ice and snow removal, fallen trees, and safe areas during tornado watches are totally a given.
