I am so frustrated while reading these reviews!!! I love cedar crest! They're reasonably priced, the staff always handles my concerns promptly, I love my neighbors! and I will never move. I've lived here for 15 years with my family and I've never had any problems. The outside was starting to look a bit run down but they just started a renovation and from what i hear we're getting new fences, balconies, and gutters. The maintenance staff is here 7 days a week and they've come out to help at 3am with work order requests all I had too do is page them. I even referred my best friend and they gave me 500 dollars. I think the people that post bad reviews are just mad because they didn't pay rent and left on bad terms and that's not the fault of the office! They even just transferred me to a new apartment and I'm only paying $670 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath because I transfered and stayed on the property. So... some advice for you young kids that are giving my HOME a bad name STOP LYING and PAY YOUR RENT!!!!

This is the worst apartment experience I've ever, ever had. Our apartment got broken into while we were on vacation by a resident who lived in the complex. This guy had a record, but was still allowed to live there. Not only could they not justify that, but they left our back patio door (which was how the burgalar entered) unfixed for two nights. I insisted on moving out a month early, as I have never felt more unsafe, and they said they would rent the apartment so that I would not have to pay the last month, July. Low and behold, before June was even over they sent me a bill for the entire month of July as well as for the damages the burgaler made to the apartment. One of the other residents also had his apartment broken into the same way mine was, and the manager admitted that quite a few other apartments had been broken into in the last six months. If you enjoy living in the most run-down, crime ridden apartments in overland park, move into Cedar Crest.

You can tell this review was written by the apartment complex staff and/or manager. Pathetic.
