This place could care less about anything other than getting rent. I have lived here 7 months and have had nothing but problems. So let me list them out

first apartment-
I picked out an apartment. We had to wait for KCP&L to turn on the power before we could move in. Well we had to wait an extra 3 weeks to move in because the girl before us didn't pay her bills so they had to make sure we weren't her. obviously waiting an extra 3 weeks to move in is a HUGE inconvenience. Management didnt offer us a new apartment or anything.

The Walk in- So finally I get the papers and the key and they say I needed to fill out a little sheet describing what the apartment condition was in, to receive my mail key. So I walk in and look around. Paint peeling, dents in the wall, stains all over the carpet, door handles not working. The ceiling fan in the bathroom falling off, and I see dead roaches and spiders all over the rooms.
I sit down on the carpet to start writing these complaints down and I am BOMBARDED with fleas. I spent TWO HOURS getting these fleas off of me. I run into the office with some still on me and I complain that I was just attacked by fleas in my apartment and show them all the complaints I already had about the place so they offer me a new apartment.

The Second apartment-
I get in and again there are stains on my "newly carpeted apartment"
There is a hole around the piping for the sink in the kitchen.
my refrigerator door doesn't close. My air conditioning rattles and is EXTREMELY loud
There is mold in the apartment that not only I am allergic too but my dogs are allergic to. My dogs have NEVER had itching problems but they never stop here and constantly get "hotspots" and I have to shave random spots on them for it to heal because it gets severely infected.
My porch had paint chips all over it because they were "cleaning" the porches and all the paint chipped off of my upstairs neighbors porch. I had to clean this all myself because my dogs could have eaten this and gotten sick.

All around my porch is a puddle of mud that my dogs have to walk in every time they have to go potty making a huge mess. I have no screen on my 2nd bedroom window. and my bedroom window has screen but it doesnt stop roaches and Spiders crawling through my window. I have actually watched a roach come through my closed window. I have to spray my windows and door every week to keep the bugs out.
My front door has no seal so we are basically heating and cooling the hallway. The "weather guard" at the bottom of my door wasnt there when I moved in so I had to call management THREE times before they installed one. When they did they did a horrible job and its loose and I can look and see into my hallway clearly when I look through this hole. in the winter i had to keep a blanket hanging on my front door to keep some heat in. I know where my neighbors are in their apartment because it creaks when they walk. I can hear them pissing while i am in the bathroom. my bathroom looks like the ceiling is falling in and is about to leak.
my bathroom lights are falling off the wall. My shower cannot completely shut off and sometimes doesn't turn on.

I've been consistently lied to by the management.
Despite FIVE visits to my apartment to "FIX" the refrigerator, I still need to keep a 30lb weight in front of my fridge door to keep it closed. My dishwasher doesn't wash dishes. there is cutting marks all over my counters and my sink is rusted.

My car has been broken into TWICE now.

I have had dog barking complaints while I was OUT OF TOWN WITH MY DOGS. To top it off I moved in with one dog, I got a new puppy and paid the deposit for the second dog and had been paying the extra pet rent for 4 months. when the maintenance man came for a yearly smoke detector test he said he heard two dogs barking from the bedroom when they came into my apartment and I got fined money. I had to go in and show them the check stub that I wrote to them for my second dog and finally they left me alone about THEIR mistake.

My outdoor closet doesn't lock. The parking lot to get out of my section of the complex I have to drive through a HUGE 3 foot wide pot hole. There are holes in the parking spots where the tires go so you always know when you are in the perfect spot because your car dips into a hole.
There are weeds all over the entrance way of my complex. The hallway door never closes
My bedroom window is covered by a huge bush they refuse to trim so I never get daylight in there.
my 2nd bedroom closet is broken.

since I had to wait 3 weeks to move in. I knew I already had a few things delivered to my apartment that I needed. And since I had to switch apartments because the first one had fleas I almost missed out on my mail. They had to have a meeting with each other to debate whether I had the right to get into what should have been my mail box to get MY MAIL

ridiculous.

I have chipmunks living in my wall. My dogs love listening to them in the walls.

I can hear conversations my neighbors are having.
my supposed to be white bathroom is now yellow

and my bathtub is peeling paint......

overall dont make the mistake of moving here unless you could careless about all of these things.

some of these things are minor to me but they all add up to one very very annoying place to live.

I am extremely disapointed in the treatment I receive here, horrible customer service who are rude on the phone and disorganized. The maintenance are horrible about fixing things and clearly dont care.

Stick with your parents another year, save the money and rent or buy something nicer.

What apartment place doesn't have it flaws?!?!?!? I personally think that Cedar Crest is a great place to live, I have not have any problems with the staff or any of the residents. All around I think that the staff is great! They know who I am and always take care of my needs. I think that a lot of people of here are just negative and nothing better else to do with their time but try to make this place look bad. So I'm thinking that some of these negative people on here must have paid their rent late, requested something that they could not get, or stuff along those lines that made them a lil' bitter! GROW UP PEOPLE! We do not live in a world where everything is all sugar and spice. CEDAR CREST ROCKS!!!!

I would say cupcakes6500... did you even read the above comments. Either you are someone who works for the office trying to play yourself off as a renter or you are a pig who enjoys sleeping in filth and mud and bugs. Miki tells you what you want to hear but when push comes to shove they want your money and don't care at all about what a dump they force you to live in. I highly recommend contacting the Better Business Bureau and making a report with the Overland Park Building Inspectors office. Keep documentation all of your problems. Document every time you make contact with the office or maintenance, what you were told and what the actual end result was. Keep dates and times and who you actually spoke to. They office staff will lie to save themselves. They will do everything they can to make it look like you are somehow the bad tennant but stand your ground. You know you are in the right, and if push comes to shove... get a lawyer. Sincerely, someone who has been through this with Cedar Crest before
