I currently live in this apartment complex (until August). First of all, it is a very diverse community of different cultures. Whether or not they are legal or illegal, on welfare or not is not my concern. What is my concerns and warnings about this complex you ask' I will start from the time I was a prospective tenant. When I took a tour of the apartment in June 2008, I was told there was still work to be down before I moved in carpets needed to be cleaned, a window to be fixed, a cabinet to be replaced. I knew that going in and still signed with 'good faith' that it would be done. The work was not done and still is not done to this day. I have called multiple times about the broken windows, neighbors children playing in the construction areas, garbage disposer, etc. So many times that I decided in Jan of this year (after only living there 4 months) I would not renew my lease. Unless it is an emergency fix, then I just 'deal with' whatever is that broken at that time. I do know of car break ins in the Colonial Gardens apartments but have not experienced that in Cherbourg. Nor have I experienced the mold problems. There is a funny smell that Febreeze takes care of quite easily via 3 cans a week. As for the staff, they do no return phone calls. I have left multiple voicemails for things only to finally get a hold of someone who simply says they are 'new and unsure where that info is kept'. If you want something done there you have to go into the office and talk to the manager; which if you work 9-6 like I do, that is almost impossible. The rent is a good cheap price for the location. Its is in a quiet location off Metcalf but that is about it. On a scale of 0-10 with 10 being the best, this place gets a 1. Mainly because the lack of staff concern and meeting my needs, horrid parking, and lack of up keep.
