I have live at Essex for almost 2 years. Most of the time without any major complaints. The maintenance staff are the most incompetent lot I have ever encountered. It takes more than 3 calls for issue to finally get it fixed.
The manager -------- is worse...she is rude, adversarial and needs a fresher course on management principles. She doesn't care about the residents one bit. I had a maintenance issue that I had to escalate because it had not resolved after 4 weeks (they set the expectation to 2-3 business days), she treated me like they were doing me a favor!!!!!! Hello I am paying rent therefore it is my right to get issues fixed.
Although I love the size of the apartment, I am no longer willing to deal with the aggravation. I will be moving when my lease comes up and DO NOT recommend living here

You're not kidding. I've been dealing with air conditioner problems for months now. The owners aren't willing to spend the money to fix things right or buy decent equipment. They buy the cheapest stuff they can get, which of course fails in no time. Maintenance ends up having to patch problems up instead of fixing them right the first time, resulting in numerous visits to refix the same old problems.

Management understands the insufficiencies and struggles the property and residents have experienced in the past. The new Managment team brings over 20 years of proffesional Management experience to the property and we have taken the initiative to overcome those previous struggles and provide nothing but the upmost positive experience at Essex Place Apartments. Perhaps Management needs to learn how to properly spell before they attempt to tackle such large tasks.

The new management is actually worse in my opinion. We had a mold problem that is still not resolved. Four times I have had to clean up after the incompentent maintanence. They improperly fixed the mold problem, so who know how many people's wall have mold in them now? -----, the -----------, said attempts have been made to fix it, but let me tell you if I 'attempted' to pay my rent each month, I woul be evicted. For such high rent, they have not made any changes inside or outside the apartments to keep up with neighboring communities. Look elsewhere for a professional staff and nicer, well kept apartments that don't just look good from a distance.

You know I have not had a problem and I have lived on this property for a year and a half I have never had a maintenance complaint but I have filed a few maintenance requests with very fast response time in most cases same day. I have never had a problem with the office staff they are always professional and the ----------- ----- is very nice and I have personally driven by the office at 8 pm on my way to the gym and seen ----- sill in the office hard at work. I have also found out through word of mouth that they will now have maintenance personnel working on Saturdays to better serve the residences maintenance requests.
In response to the above complaint-
I personally think that if you are going to include someones name in a complaint that you add your own
it is kind of third gradeish isn't it
