My wife and I moved from another apartment to The Four Winds because of these reasons - (1) Increase in auto traffic because of the growth that community was experiencing, (2) 25% Increase in rent when we were prepared to sign a new lease, and the promise of a health & fitness center for all of it's residents, only to see used and even rusted equipment in this health & fitness center.
We thought Four Winds would be a better bet overall, only to find out quite different after we signed the lease. First off, prior to our move-in day we were told that they needed to clean, paint, and make our apartment ready for our move. The day we were scheduled to move our apartment was NOT clean, painted, or ready for our move in. We were promised that we if we moved in anyway our apartment would be given extra attention by their staff. This didn't occur, we were cleaning spiderwebs off the ceilings for days, the ceilings from the living room to the bedrooms had a dirty look as though miners had been digging for gold either in or under our apartment. The tub was NOT clean. The kitchen counters were dirty, the kitchen cabinets had little bugs in them including centipedes. We were told our problems were NOT the highest priority, so they would get to them after they( mgm't )took care of other bigger fires. The pool was crowed except close to closing time, and before 8am so the thought of using the pool on the weekend was a wasted thought. When we did use the pool it was either dirty or full of tanning lotion residue, not the clean feeling you would come to expect from a company that had a staff that could take care of such a problem. We decided to move because of these and other reasons, and was told that we had to ( get this ) make sure we cleaned the apartment before we moved or they would charge us to clean it or keep our security deposit. We made sure it was cleaned, even took pictures of our work, and literally fought this company in court to get our security deposit back. In summary this would NOT be a company I would recommend to anyone unless they love being taken advantage of. I have pic's of our apartment prior 2 our move out, I have pic's of our apartment the day we moved in & will gladly make them available to you 2 validate my claims.
