We were excited when we first found Four Winds. It was an apartment with a fireplace, in our price range that let us have a dog. It all changed soon after moving in. It was by far the worst apartment we have ever rented.

The small positive would be that there were two pools and the small one was rarely busy. Past that I have nothing positive to say about this place.

We had huge issues with water damage caused by the maintenance staff, not a irresposible renter living above. We had water pouring through a light fixture and our hardwired smoke detector the third time we had water damage. The detector would not stop sounding and the light fixture made sparks. The solution of the management was for us to leave the power off in more than half of our apartment until the fixtures "dried out." Yep, they refused to replace them. I thought this was a huge fire risk. We had no sprinkler system and only one extenguisher per 6 apartments. We would have to go up the enclosed staircase to get one if a fire were to start in our apartment. We had so much water in the drywall that if you pressed on it water ran down the wall. It was not replaced either. My husband and dog both developed allergies. Who has to give their dog allergy medication twice daily' Seriously' The management refused to test for mold. I guess what you don't know, you don't have to fix. We left soon after. We were refunded all of our deposits, even the nonrefundable portion, after making a report to Aimco the manangement company. I guess that was their pathetic way of admitting what a dump the place was.

I was never happier than the day we moved to our brand new luxury apartment. Our monthly rent increased by $100. So very worth it! Did I mention that not 9 months after we moved out the had a huge apartment fire at Four Winds' Our old building in fact. The dump almost burned to the ground. Guess why'' I'm just glad we saw it coming and got out when we did. Don't make our same mistake.
