I lived here for 13 months. The day ater I moved in there was water damage on the walls from a rain storm. During the following months, the roof started to leak. I don't even remember how many time I called in to report it. The management said that all of thier roofs needed to be fixed. During the summer before I moved out, a massive roof repair operation took place, but before the roofers got to my building, they packed up and left Highland Park. I had been there 13 months and every single time it rained for more than an hour, the roof leaked. We had to constantly rearranged our living room furniture to protect electronic equipment and our computer. We had to put down a heavy tarp on the floor to protect the carpet from water stains from the leaks. Several inside cosmetic jobs were done, but the real problem was that our roof needed to be retiled. I should have never paid rent until this leak was fixed, as was my right under the Kansas tenant/landlord act. This apartment complex is lucky I didn't report them for breaking certain sections of the Kansas tenant/landlord act, where it states that problems must be addressed in a timely manner. The problem was in the whole complex, and my problem was a 13 month ongoing problem that was never fixed. Bottom line, go the State of Kansas website and search for the Kansas tenant/landlord act. Know your rights. If neccesary, get a lawyer involved. ttp://www.ksag.org/Files/Brochures/tenant.pdf
