No regard for Kansas law.

I received a partial deposit due to my blinds being damaged. I know exactly what they are talking about when they tell me this. The blinds had approximately four to five slats that were crinkled on the end. For some reason this cost me over $60 of my deposit. Not only that, but they did not return my partial deposit until after the 30 days they have alotted by law to notify me that they are keeping part of my deposit. I sent several letters explaining that they are obligated by law to send me my full depost (actually plus more by law) because they waited more than 30 days to notify me that they are keeping part of my deposit. These letters were disregarded. It is not feasible for me to take them to court and spend more in small claims court than what would be rewarded. I am sure they know this and fall back on this quite often.
I lived in Highland Ridge for 2 years. Management changed hands at least 3 times in those 2 years. Of course rent goes up every time management changes hands. My rent raised over $50 per month while I was there.
My ceiling leaked the majority of the time I lived there. It was repaired several times, but always repaired from the inside instead of trying to fix the leak.
I was late by about 12 hours on my rent one time in the 2 years I lived there and it cost me $50 in late fees.
I would not recommend living here until managment is stable and do not expect to get your deposit back. If they can find a reason to keep my deposit, they can find a reason to keep anybody's.
