DON'T MOVE HERE

I have lived here for 6 years in 5 different apartments, and it is less than desirable. The management team is rude, and they don't keep good records. I was told by another complex I applied to that At Home Apartments said I had received an eviction notice when I had not. The grounds are not maintained well at all. The parking lot is pitch black at night, and they don't salt the parking lots when it snows, so there is ice on them long after everyone else's lots are clear and dry. Leaves pile up for months, and a brush pile sat in the middle of the yard for 4 months, literally 4 months. there is no pool, no clubhouse, no amenities at all. they charge about $100 less than complexes with washer and dryers in the units and full clubhouses with pools. they don't clean the apartments prior to move in. one of them had poop running down the side of the toilet when I moved in. Damage from previous tenants is not repaired, and I was charged for damages a previous tenant had done two seperate times in two different apartments. Carpeting was removed from the outside stairs and was not replaced for about two months. The exterior storage consists of a closet that is roughly 15 sq. feet (enough room to fit the average kitchen chair into) and there are about 15 storage lockers for a building with 40 apartments in it. When exterior lights burn out it takes several weeks for them to replace the bulbs, if they actually do replace them. The square footage was advertised as 950 square feet. when i measured the inside of my apartment (including closets) it came to only 749 sq feet. unless wall space takes up 200 square feet (which it does not, they falsely advertised it). one last thing, there is a shooting range next door so if you like gunshots, this is your dream home.

I went on this website for my friend to see the good reviews. I am referring her to live here. I was surprised to read your review. Sounds like you're TRYING to find things to complain about, but you don't even make sense. Obviously, you knew there was no pool or laundry in your apartment before you decided to move there, and why stay so long if it's so bad. I did a move-in inspection with the leasing person when I moved in and my apartment was very clean. I work until late at night and I've never seen the parking lot dark when I come home. Sounds like you're just an unhappy person who should move on. I would rather not think you live near me anyway!

that is right, you obviously got to see the apartment BEFORE you moved in,and if you did not like the space it provided..why did you lease? also,I lived here for many years, and I have never seen the outside dark. I also think the maintenance men do a good job, they have always responded within 24 hours when i have requested that they do work in or outside. you also knew there were no amenities, you agreed to sign a lease knowing what you were paying for, etc.

Maybe parking lot is not "Pitch Black", but visibility is limited to the lighting from surrounding parking lots since there is only one two halogen lights lighting only 20 feet worth of the immediate entry way. Parking in front of the entryway is well lit, but if you walk further into the parking lot, you are likely to need a flashlight to find the keyhole on your car door. parking on the south side of the building is very dark. I cannot see the bike rack that is 100 feet away, and to mention several bikes have been stolen from it. my sons brand new bike was not stolen due to a cut resistant cable, which i had to replace to due slices in the plastic coating surrounding the cable, which were made by bolt cutters. I do agree about maintenance responding quickly to requests, as my refrigerator was fixed within a day of me reporting it leaking. Unfortunately it was turned off when the maintenance man initially looked at it, and not turned back on. since i was unaware it had been turned off, $120 worth of food had spoiled by the next day, which management refused to replace, even though it was clearly their fault. Yes i was aware of the condition of the apartment prior to moving in, but as we all know initial appearances are deceiving as the smaller details can be easily overlooked.

DON'T MOVE HERE! this is from user ASRichards (i was unable to log in). Since i posted above i thought i would update everyone. After i moved out, they attempted to collect on damages that were not even there. they went as far as claiming i had "improperly installed a digital thermostat", which i clearly did not ever "install". They attempted to collect on the screens in windows they claimed were "pushed out". they were not. they said that lights were out, when i was sure to replace them all, as i have been charged before by management for bulbs that were out. all but one of the $329 worth of damage they claimed on the move out check list were on the initial walk through, which i had to do myself. I would advise ANYONE who moves here to make sure to take plenty of pictures upon move out and be present when management does the walk through. It is not worth living here, trust me, you should pay a little extra and go elsewhere if you can.
