I have been a tenant at Leawood Manor since 2005 and overall I have been very satisfied with my stay. Honestly, the only problems that I have had were with the place just getting kind of old. The roofs need replaced, but there are roof companies working on replacing them right now. The parking lots need some work. The wood on my patio needs to be replaced. The buildings could use some fresh paint.
Overall though, it is very hard to complain about things like that, when the rent is so cheap. I'm sure if they replaced everything and made the place look brand new again our rent would go sky high, so be careful what you wish for!
The apartments are pretty big, and pretty nice. Mine had brand new carpet when I moved in, and pretty much everything in the apartment looked either new or at least in good condition. I've lived in other apartments where I felt like I needed to wear shoes on the inside to keep from getting my feet dirty the carpet was so bad.
I don't know of any other apartments that have good schools, cheap rent, and nice, large apartments in South Johnson County for $700 month. Even if it has a few flaws, it is a nice place to live.
