Not for a family.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
My husband and I moved to The Lodge for the location and price. He is a pre-med student and I am a stay at home mom. Maintenance is an issue. There are workers that truly care, but most issues are outstanding for several weeks at a time. We were told we would have free cable and internet upon moving in b/c they were switching companies. After 3 weeks and probably 25 phone calls, we decided it was worth the money to pay for an outside company. Noise is a major issue. Neighbors on all sides of us have surround sound, which makes getting a baby to sleep and to stay asleep very difficult. We can't even make a complaint, b/c when we called the office they told us our option was to call the police and file a formal complaint. At our previous apartment they had a courtesy patrol for these type of situations and the office handled their tenant issues. Prior to moving in (after we had signed) we asked the office about the safety issues and complaints we had seen on this site. We were told that we would have to call the police department to find out what complaints had been made. Upon our call we found that they couldn't make a recommendation, but that the police felt the safety was about average for a complex. My husband and I were very disappointed when we viewed the actual apartment we moved into compared to the model. Cabinets are drawer fronts were falling off. It needed a major cleaning before we could move our items in. We were told they did a complete renovation and that we would be moving into a renovated unit. The carpet was not replaced, the closet doors wouldn't open, and the workmanship is awful. The section of apartments they put us in is not kept up. My husband bought an automatic starter for my car b/c I feel very unsafe. I would not want to live here as a single woman. Men seem to hang out in parking lots and as other reviews have stated men will stop driving and blatantly pull over to watch you walk. We are in the lease for 13 months and we will not be renewing. The office staff admits that there has been a lot of turn over and maint. issues. After reading all of the reviews, I can agree with most of them and we have only lived here for 2 months. Do your children a favor and find a complex that is more family oriented. x-2PE3sjUIIeetAHoKOk
