I lived at the Lodge for only 6 months before I decided to break my lease due. Between the ant infestation in my kitchen to the air conditioner never working (temp in the apartment reached the upper 80's) to a leak over my bed ... I couldn't take it any longer. I would repeatedly call to have these issues taken care of only to get the run-around if any response at all. In addition, the office staff lost rent checks and charged me for overdue payments that were in fact their error.

All of this pales in comparison to the mess I'm currently involved in. Over 6 months after I have vacated the property, I am having my credit ran for a new apartment complex. It comes back that I owe a balance of over $900 to the Lodge. I have a dated check stub proving that that to be false and after contacting the office about it, they admit that they were in fact in error. Oops! They agree to resubmit the approval form, but it takes almost 2 weeks for them to get around to it, and only after numerous phone calls from both my new apartment and myself. When asked to have this removed from my credt report, they immediately go on the defensive and backtrack, stating that they will get back with me in a couple of days after they review it further. Mind you, I have had 3 people from that office state that the Lodge was the one at fault. I am now having to get a lawyer involved to remedy something that I was completely innocent of.

In short, I would advise anyone strongly against renting at the Lodge of Overland Park.
