Renters Beware

I was enticed by the cheaper rent; however, with cheaper rent came a very cheap apartment. Parking: If you do not arrive at your complex area before 6pm you will have to park away from your lot. This would not be a problem if the parking lots were better lit. They also don't enforce parking rules. For example, the slot that is in front of the stair way has the diagonal lines. Yet, people ignore them and park in front of the stairs. This makes it very hard to move things in an out. Noise: My neighbors are very kind and we only have had the occasional music until 1am. HOWEVER, everyday (including the weekend) there is honking at 6:30 to 7:30 am. I know they have cell phones why can't they call them instead of honking' Safety: I have not had any problems with safety. The only concern is that there have been police cars in the area every weekend. Construction: Where do I begin' The day I moved in I was doing my inspection of the apartment and found the following things 1. There were live and dead roaches in all rooms of the apartment. 2. The bathtub was improperly sealed and therefore moisture and bugs can get in and out. 3. The knob to start the shower was broken and thus I couldn't take a shower. (I reported this as an emergency maintenance problem. It wasn't fixed for 4 days. Luckily I have an aunt near by) 4. The cabinets and flooring are not properly installed. This causes the floor to peal up and for our bugs to get in and out. Maintenance: So far this has been a disaster. We have to put in multiple requests and it often takes 3 trips to our apartment to get all of the tools and someone who knows how to fix the particular problem. As for the bugs, you might as well open up a roach motel. In November alone we are getting our apartment sprayed for the second time. And we know that we didn't invite them because they were there before we moved in. We have even tried taking matters into our own hands by sealing different areas, but nothing has worked. Don't be fooled like I was. I would pass on this complex.

Even though this was posted last November, I would like all readers to know about the changes at the Lodge. Last year we switched to Orkin pest control and since have very few if any requests for pest control. We do weekly preventative treatments now which has been a huge success!! As far as the parking, we implemented parking stickers and routine towing of vehicles which are not registered or are inoperable. I hear from residents all the time that the availability of parking has improved. When maintenance issues are called in we do try to repair items first before they are replaced and this sometimes does require a second visit. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Parking is better, I agree. There had been several vehicles in the lot that were there for 3-4 months straight without being moved which are now gone.
I completely agree with the honking! And, the floors do peel up. We have that in the kitchen and bathrooms.
