Horrible New Management!

The former management was wonderful, very friendly, complaints and requests for service were handled quickly. Since Price Brothers has taken over, it seems to be a different story. Management isn t nearly as friendly or available. The office closes early on a regular basis without notice. I have tried to drop of rent payment many times only to find that the office has closed 10-15 minutes early.
There was over a 3 week stretch without the lawn being mowed except along the street. The grass in our courtyard was over 2 feet tall. Construction was started on dumpster pads, holes were made in the asphalt and it has taken 2 months or so to complete. The holes were not marked off well, and the tape had fallen down, this created a safety hazard. Lumber with nails exposed was left lying by the carports since December and was just picked up a few weeks ago. This complex is full of families with children who could easily get hurt in these unsafe conditions.
I had a noise complaint about a neighbor and was told nothing could be done until the police were contacted. The police have much more important things to do than to handle a simple noise complaint. These things should be handled by management first, and then if not solved the police can get involved.
I am also very disappointed that I cannot go month-to-month after living out my lease, only 60-day extensions are allowed. We are buying a house and unsure of a solid move-out date since we haven't closed yet. This means it is possible we could pay up to 3 months of rent and not even live here.
We have lived in various apartments owned by companies such as AMLI and Post and have never had such incompetent management. We are very disappointed, and that is the main reason we are leaving. We used to refer people to this complex, now we warn against.

I understand that it rained... it rained all over the city, not just in Preston Court. Other lawns were mowed, Preston Court even managed to mow around the office and along the street, leaving the common areas (the areas hidden from public view) unmowed. I did call the office and the excuse I was given was that Price Brothers was having some sort of dispute with the mowing company and that it had rained. Again, it was THREE WEEKS! Ridiculous.
Noise complaints - I have lived in other apartments and never ever had to call the police after hours to PROVE that someone was being noisy. NEVER! Tenants should not have to do your work for you!
I have called the office about all of my complaints. NONE of them were reconciled.
Improvements have all been cosmetic. Management is what really needs to be improved. At least the old management was friendly and approachable and actually cared about their tenants, which is more than you can say for Price Brothers.

wow...I was looking into this complex until I started seeing the argumentative replies to every negative post, from someone who is obviously on staff at the complex. you can't really come after someone for "anonymously complaining" on a website when you are obviously too chicken to identify yourself as on staff. that's the pot calling the kettle black, no?
thank you for making this decision easy for me. I will never even look at your complex, let alone rent there.

Me as well! The funny thing is they get on the resident for being anonymous and they're replying anonymous as well!!! And yeah, we all know it's the staff getting on a resident because of their inability to handle matters like this.
Scratching this off my list with red ink!!
