We moved into our townhome over Labor Day weekend in 2003. This was a horrible rainy weekend. Driving across Kansas was a nightmare especially with a U-haul in tow.

When we got to the complex we went in to sign the agreement and get the keys. It was around 3:30 and we were told we needed to check out the place, fill out an "initial damage report" form and return it promptly. The office was closing at 5 that day. When we got to our apartment we were impressed. We had brand new carpet and freshly painted walls. There were a few topical damages we needed to report and the only major problem was the blower for the A/C. It wasn't working. We hated moving in the rain but was now thankful for the cooler weather since the A/C wouldn't turn on. When we got back to the clubhouse they had closed for the day so we were stuck over the holiday weekend. Also the woman who was there when we signed the agreement told us that since we got there so late in the day we didn't need to cover rent for that day.

We heard that the rain had caused severe flooding damage to the basements and walls of several of the apartments and we even received a flyer stating the steps they were taking to resolve the issue and the massive amount of damage the apartments had received. We saw several carpet cleaning vans and construction crews repairing damages. It was refreshing to see them respond so quickly.

We were worried the A/C wouldn't be fixed promptly but what could we do. We finished moving in and setting up and called the office first thing the next business day. They had a maintenance man to our apartment later that day to look at the A/C. He was very professional and friendly. He wasn't able to fix the A/C that day but returned the next day with parts and fixed it. It ran for a few weeks and something else in the furnace broke. Within a day another maintenance man was out fixing that problem. I understand that parts break and I was very impressed with the response time from the maintenance men.

We had a minor billing issue as a result of the one day free we received which was resolved quickly with little fuss. Most of the employees are very friendly and helpful.

My apartment is in excellent condition and quiet. We have a new stove and fridge along with the new carpet. I have excellent neighbors and have no problems with noise.

My only complaint is the parking. The parking is a complete nightmare and my neighbors seem to have more cars than they know what to do with. If the parking spaces in front of our apartments is full they don't park down another row..they will park against the curb right behind other cars and right infront of the fire hydrant or trash collectors or drainage ditch. Its a nightmare trying to get in and out of the parking lot. There does need to be more parking and we have received a letter from the manager stating they are researching what can be done. But the problem isn't all in the manager's hands. My neighbors need to park correctly as well.

Overall I'm very satisifed with our experience with Sheridan Ridge.
