Prepare to sign away your life and freedom!

I don't pay such high rent to look like I live in the public housing! Where do I begin! Yes, the Allison, in the rental office is wonderful, and yes, I do find the staff to be incredibly nice. But the maintenance is horrible so what does it matter if the person I complain to is nice if they don't make sure the problem gets fixed'
When I moved in, I was assured that there would be cable outlets in living room, downstairs, and both bedrooms. Now I have to pay the cable company $45 extra dollars to come install an outlet in the basement! I have had several floods in my basement. I have a leaky roof, that they are doing nothing about. I have a huge hole in my living room ceiling from a leak in the bathroom. At first, the maintenance man said that he couldn't find the leak, that the water coming through the ceiling was because we weren't closing the shower curtain all the way (mind you, our ceiling sagged from the weight of water and our bathroom floor was bone dry!) Then, only after pressuring him, did he acturally cut out the entire saggy part of the ceiling and found a leak in the pipes. Well guess what, the maintenance doesn't do pipes, they contract them out. So we had to wait for a contractor, which took 2 more days. The contractor fixes the leak and we can't take a shower for 24 hours. Not so bad until the 24 hours are over and we shower only to find an even bigger leak coming from another spot in the same hole in my ceiling. It's been 2 weeks and they haven't been back! Not to mention, I have a huge hole in my ceiling, an increasingly wet carpet, and they actually wanted to save the soaked sheetrock to repatch the hole!
In addition, I have a toilet that doesn't work, plaster peeling in my daughter's room. My living room windows look as if they have been pried open, the master bedroom window has no screen and must be propped open or else it will slam shut, and the weather stripping in my front door is missing so it never appears closed, even from the outside! When asked to fix these items, I was told the maintenance doesn't do windows, that's contracted out, and there is a priority list of work that needs to be done and my work wasn't priority. They would get to it when they could. Guess how long that's been' A month. All in all, I would not recommend this apartment to my worst enemy! No one deserves to pay such high rent to live like this. And once you sign on the line, you have signed away your living freedom for the duration of your lease. If you try to break it, they will charge astronomical fees. In order for me to break my lease, I would have to pay over $3,500. This is the breakdown: I currently pay $750/month (I moved in on a special). For me to break my lease I would have to give them 2 times the current market value for the apartment $950, and pay back the consessions I received for each month I have been here which is $202, plus lose my $300 deposit! So here's the math: 7 months lived here x $202 950 market rent x 2 300 deposit= $3,614 which goes up each month I am here! It's a nightmare! Don't live here!
In addition, my neighbors are horrible and parking sucks! People who pay for the covered parking should not be allowed to use my parking spaces! Not to mention every friday, if you don't get home right after work, all the parking spaces are taken by people's friends so you, a paying renter, are left to park on the street!
