Good place to live - great value

After reading through some of the other comments, I decided to weigh in with some of my own. First off, the apartments are older (built in 80's) but are tasteful and are not falling apart. I've lived in better but I've also lived in worse. They are middle of the pack construction wise but are very good compared to others in the same price range. I think they could be more energy efficient but the electric bill is still reasonable. I sometimes am able to hear the people below me, but that is pretty rare. The location of the apts. are fantastic (along with price, the best selling point they have); tons of shopping and restaurants around the area especially at 119th and Metcalf. Also, this area is relatively safe. The parking at the apts. is good. I am always able to get a parking spot close to my apt. There is covered parking available if you're willing to spend the money (it's a rip-off in my opinion). On to the management, I have not had any problems as of yet. They have been friendly and certainly not arrogant, as another person described them. A couple times they were slow in fixing some things we complained about (tiles coming off in bathroom, for one) but they were fixed. Additionally, nothing has been stolen out of my apartment although they will enter your apt when you are not there. Other things: the workout center is ok, with some treadmills and bikes and a workout station (which is crap). Never used the pools but they seemed to be in good order. The mailboxes, depending on where your apt. is, are quite far away but that isn't a big deal to me. You are stuck with Time Warner cable (unless you have a satellite dish) which is more expensive than Everest. Overall, for th reasons above, I would give Skyler Ridge a 7 out of 10. If you are more value oriented, I would bump the rating up to a 8 out of 10.
