My fiance, daughter and I are coming up on our third year here and will not be renewing. When we first moved in, we lived in a 1 bedroom with study (used as a second bedroom for our daughter). We had very few problems other than our neighbors hanging out in the parking lot until the wee hours of the morning. We also had trouble with parking spots. They would fill up right at 5pm; so if you didn't get there fast enough, you'd wind up parking very far away. When our lease was up in that unit, we decided to move up to a larger 2 bedroom. On move-in day, they forgot to schedule us to sign our lease so they didn't have time for us until almost noon. We moved almost all of our things over and then noticed the cockroaches. At first it was just a few, then we noticed the rest. In all of the cabinets, the bedrooms, etc. We told management about it and they sent over an exterminator who fogged the apartment (we couldn't enter for 4 hours...our moving day was shot!) When we went in after the 4 hours the roaches were still alive and they had fogged all of our belongings because we had no warning on when they'd be there. Management still expected us to live there. We said no way and decided to stay in our smaller apartment until they could get a new one ready--2 months later! When we signed our new lease, they forgot to have us sign certain parts of it (after forgetting again to schedule the appointment with us). They're still calling us & telling us we HAVE to come in and sign for the video rental, even though we never use it. We've now been in our new place for 7 months and we have a problem with beetles in our laundry room. At least their not cockroaches. Our neighbors are loud and have a pit bull that they don't walk on a leash or pick up after (a nightmare with a 2 year old). Maintenance is very responsive; usually arriving the same day as we call in, even for non-emergencies (dryer not working). We did have a bat hanging from our front door one day which was taken care of immediately. They do paint over EVERYTHING, including cable outlets which makes it very hard to screw in the cable cords. Our doors to our cabinets and bedrooms aren't level (I fixed them myself) and our AC unit is loud. It could be much worse, but could be much better. We're getting out of here when our lease is up and buying a house. We figure there's no apartment complex that will live up to our expectations, especially not this one.
